2012 Herald-Mail Bridal and Prom Expo

This Sunday, January 15th, we will be at the 2012 Herald-Mail Bridal and Prom Expo. The show will be held at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown, MD from 11 am – 6 pm. 86 vendors have registered for this years show, so it’s going to be huge! You’ll be able to find us by of the fountain in front of Bon-Ton. If you are not familiar with the mall, that’s basically right in the center. Best part of the show, it’s FREE! Jamie & Jason’s Wedding at Leiters in Hagerstown, MD

So yesterday was Jamie’s birthday and the day we uploaded her proofs. :) I thought I would make a blog post as a belated birthday present. Jamie and Jason were married last month at First Christian Church in Hagerstown, with a reception at Leiters in town. It was a great day with a great couple. Enjoy:

Katy & Tom’s Wedding at St. Mary’s and Fountain Head Country Club

Katy and Tom were married this past August at St. Mary’s in Hagerstown, and then had an amazing reception at Fountain Head Country Club. I was with Katy and Tom for almost 12 hours that day, and personally shot over 5,000 images. That’s not a record for two shooters on a wedding day, but I’m pretty sure it’s a personal record. :) You will see why I couldn’t stop shooting, and this should explain why this post is so huge. Lizzie & Pat’s Hagerstown, MD & Liberty Mountain Resort Wedding

Alicia & John’s Hagerstown Wedding

Alicia and John’s wedding was on March 5th at Saint James in Hagerstown. Alicia and John had actually married a few months before. John was then deployed to Afghanistan, and returned only weeks before their planned wedding. Below are just a few of the images we snapped that day.

Lizzie & Pat’s Waynesboro, PA Engagement Session

Lizzie and Pat are getting married next June at Liberty Mountain Resort. They met in high school and have been together every since. :) Back in June we met for their engagement session at Renfrew Park in Waynesboro, PA. Here are just a few photos from their session.

Emily & Adam’s Wedding at Cortland Mansion in Hagerstown, MD

Emily & Adam were married last month at Hagerstown Bible Church, and then held their wedding reception at Cortland Mansion, also in Hagerstown, MD. Before we traveled to the reception we went to the City Park for their family and bridal photos. It was a beautiful ceremony.

At the reception, Emily’s dad spoke, and I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house. :) I believe that most dads will always see his daughter as 2-5 years old. An age where daddy is her greatest hero, and she is his beautiful little princess. On her wedding day, all he can see is this little girl running to see him to wrap those little arms around him, to give him a little kiss, or to twirl around to show him her new dress, or the new way she has her hair. As a father, nothing is sweeter than your little girl and how much she wants your approval, and there is no greater joy, or gift to her, than to tell her she is beautiful. On her wedding day nothing has changed, except, it is the last time she will ask for his approval. The last time a father can really reassure her by saying, ‘you are beautiful’. From that point on, she will ask those words from her husband. This has happened at every wedding I’ve photographed. It’s an unspoken human tradition that seems to transcend race, culture, and religion. At that moment the torch is passed from father to husband. Sometimes, it is quick, with no visible emotion, other times, it’s well planned, full of tears and joy. But, every bride always asks her daddy, ‘how do I look’, and her daddy, as loving as he can says, ‘you look beautiful’. Sometimes her dad will just nod, but the meaning is the same. For that moment, she is his little princess again twirling in her new dress, new shoes, and pretty hair. It’s the last time she will do this for him, wanting those words, ‘you are beautiful’. It is at that moment he realizes that all of those other times where just a practice run for her wedding day.

Megan & Brad’s Hagerstown, MD Wedding

Megan & Brad were married at Williamsport United Methodist Church, and held their reception at Beaver Creek Country Club in Hagerstown, MD. It was a beautiful wedding, and the first wedding I’ve been to where the DJ had every single person dancing and participating! It was crazy! Megan’s wedding is a great example of how we cater to individual needs. You’ll notice I don’t have my typical detail shots. This is because Megan wanted to focus more on her photos of family and friends, and less on material details. So, we took a more traditional route, and shot a lot of formal photos in the beginning.

On June 4th, I had my first Friday wedding of the year. Jennifer and Jason had a beautiful wedding at Green Grove Gardens in Greencastle, PA. I met Jennifer at the J&B Bridal show back in January, which, by the way, is where she purchased her dress. :)
